I would agree, Shane. Ford has come a long way and have a bright future ahead of them as the premier American car manufacturer.

While I would likely never choose to purchase a hatchback like this, I think it is sufficient evidence as to why Ford is experiencing a resurgence and other American automakers are still asking for bailouts: they are finally paying attention to design.
The new Ford Taurus (YES, the Taurus!) is a giant leap forward from the Crown Vic-inspired sleds of yore and the 2012 Focus (shown in this picture), despite its hatchbackery, is another sleek addition to their lineup.
Here’s hoping that they continue to bring well-designed American cars to the market and not just reserve them for distribution in Europe.
