Smartphone Share — Google Grows While RIM Slows, Palm Reverses

While I wouldn’t trust ComScore’s numbers completely, these numbers are cause for concern for Palm. Palm needs to make some more moves to stay competitive in 2010 and to stay afloat. First off, Palm needs to release a “Pre 2” this year with better build quality, which means ditching the curved slider design. Also, webOS is a revolutionary platform is regards to design, but it needs to be optimized to reduce lag time. Finally, once the PDK is launched this year, it will allow any iPhone app to be ported over to webOS. This will solve the “lack of apps” problem.
