Great news for Sprint today. I am big supporter of the local KC company.

Here’s some great news out of the Sprint camp. In Q2 of 2010, Sprint added (yes, added) 111,000 postpaid subscribers to its CDMA network and had the lowest churn rate in company history, 1.85% for the quarter. This is the first time in three years that Sprint had positive net wireless subscriber growth.
Looks like Sprint finally has a premier flagship phone (sorry, Palm Pre). This really isn’t a surprise, as the EVO beats out the upcoming iPhone 4 in most specifications.
Best Buy’s CEO Brian Dunn said Tuesday that consumer traffic at its stores is lumpy with customers splurging for big tech launches and then pulling back. Apparently, Sprint’s HTC 4G Evo is shaping up to be a big event.Dunn, speaking on an earnings conference call following disappointing first quarter results, said the “4G HTC Evo is the best selling device in Best Buy Mobile.” Dunn added that “Android platform sales are outstanding.”
Well, we knew it was coming - now it is all but confirmed. The HTC Supersonic will be the first 4G device in the U.S.
I was hoping that Palm would release new device sporting WiMAX first, but it looks like HTC beat them to the punch.
This is a huge move by Sprint, hopefully their WiMAX network expands quickly.

Looks like Phone Arena has received an anonymous tip on the upcoming Sprint phone line-up. The line up, pictured above, includes a new WiMax Android phone from HTC.
The tipster also said that there was a possibility of Sprint launching a new Palm device. The device, known as the C40, isn’t pictured in the line-up but it has been rumored before.
I am pulling for Sprint to make something big happen. They are facing some stiff competition with Verizon launching the Nexus One and Palm Pre Plus soon.
Nonetheless, 2010 should be a huge year for smartphone users.
