Some people are still surprised to find out that Kansas City is actually in Missouri (side note: there is also a less populated Kansas City, Kansas).
While KC might not be the most action-packed city in the U.S., it has many great things to offer. The NY Times mentions some of these activities in their travel section.

Since I live in KC, I can see this fog outside the window right now. Awesome pic:
My mom has been sending me pictures of wintry fog in Overland Park, Kansas — and to me it always looks like the ice planet Hoth from The Empire Strikes Back. So, I took it a step further and added some AT-ATs. That’s my high school football stadium in the background.
