Now comes word via the Wall St. Journal that “those familiar with Palm’s situation” say that Palm is developing a brand new phone for later this year. This news shouldn’t come as a big surprise, but it’s the first somewhat official confirmation we’ve seen regarding a new webOS device. Given the events of the last 24 hours, this certainly comes as encouraging news.

Sprint Announces Tentative Date for 4G HTC Supersonic

Well, we knew it was coming - now it is all but confirmed. The HTC Supersonic will be the first 4G device in the U.S.

I was hoping that Palm would release new device sporting WiMAX first, but it looks like HTC beat them to the punch.

This is a huge move by Sprint, hopefully their WiMAX network expands quickly.

Palm Pre Plus Named the Most Important Tech Product of the Year

I am glad to see Palm finally get some positive press. Although, I have higher expectations for the “Pre 2” which hopefully is released in the first half of 2010.

Analyst Predicts Bright Future For Palm’s webOS

Palm’s stock was up 7.1% today on an analyst’s prediction that Palm could be a candidate for a buyout within the next two years. It was also mentioned that Palm could surpass the BlackBerry and Android app count by the end of 2010.
